COMPARISON OF INVISIBLE CURBS WITH CONCRETE CURBS
COMPARISON | CONCRETE CURBS | INVISIBLE CURBS ® |
---|---|---|
NECESSARY FOR INSTALLATION | pickaxe shovel wheelbarrow cement mixer power supply trowel spirit level |
spade wide hoe tinsnips (or large scissors) hammer |
NECESSARY MATERIAL | concrete curbs cement gravel for concrete production gravel for the base layer water |
plastic curbs plastic (steel) nails |
INSTALLATION PERIOD | excavation for foundation filling in the base compacting base mixing concrete laying concrete curbs removal of excavated soil landscaping after hardening of the concrete |
removal of obstructions in the terrain to kerb level placement of curbs into the desired shape, anchoring with nails landscaping – without removal of excavated soil |
WEATHER CONDITIONS DURING INSTALLATION | not possible at low temperatures (frost, frost anticipated during concrete curing) at high temperatures must be protected from direct sunlight, and water must be poured during curing process |
any conditions (difficult installation in frozen soil) |
FUNCTIONALITY | can be completed after curing of concrete – concrete curing time according to ČSN 28 days (practical concrete curing according to weather conditions, about 3 days) |

Invisible plastic curbs – unlike concrete curbs – are specifically designed for installation level with the ground. They can almost invisibly separate different areas, e.g. lawns – bark mulch, turf – gravel.. |

Invisible plastic curbs make mowing the lawn easier, because they do not prevent cutting the edges of the lawn (see illustration on the left). There is no need to manually cut the edges with a strimmer or shears, as you would with concrete curbs (see illustration on the right). |
